Amusing but slight, this is essentially an hour-long shaggy-dog story centered around Jean-Chrétien Sibertin-Blanc's performance as the most unlikely candidate for stardom since Rupert Pupkin; his work is simultaneously marvelous and excruciating. Like all shaggy-dog stories, the film doesn't really go much of anywhere, but I found numerous pleasures along the way nevertheless.
