Obviously, these aren't even remotely the only films I saw during the first roughly 23 years of my life. It's a truly tiny percentage of them—just those for which I know the date, either because I'm 100% certain that it was opening day or because a friend of mine who saw it with me held onto his ticket stub for decades afterward. (Plus a couple of cases where I mentioned the date in a letter to someone.) At some point I may quixotically try to reconstruct my entire moviegoing history, knowing that a lot of it will be inaccurate due to faulty memory, but for now I wanted to put up the handful I know for sure.

Slashes surrounding a film indicate that I had seen the film previously. (I believe that was like my fifth viewing of Brazil, for example. But it's the only one I know the date of.)
