Dispatches from a suddenly different city

This isn't a weblog. Well, not exactly a weblog. But, it will house my thoughts, observations and comments as a New Yorker, living in a suddenly different New York; in an America changed, in ways both subtle and coarse. I don't know that I will have anything profound to say, but by putting words to paper, by shaping my thoughts, I find it easier to think about the events of September 11, and their aftermath.

At first I thought there would mostly be words here. I think that's still going to be true. But, as I've been reading, and thinking, I've added a little more structure. So, look for diary like writing under chronological, thoughts on topcs under topical, and links, pointing to things which seem important  under context. No promise this structure will last, but that's life at the moment.
