Another sign of Beijing's modernization: traffic and smog. Beijing is famous for the huge numbers of bicycles on the streets. There are still thousands of people commuting by bicycle every day, but more and more cars and buses clog the streets at rush hour (at least these electric buses have no exhaust). | ||

Yong He Gong (the Llama Temple). This building, located right off one of the ring roads, is one of relatively few examples of traditional architecture that I've seen in Beijing. Thanks to Peter Vautier for identifying this building for me! | ||
