March 2011

All the Ships at Sea has been selected for the 21st-Century Independents program at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, OH.  It will screen on Thursday, March 17 at 8:50, just after Jennifer Reeder's Seven Songs About Thunder and Damien Chazelle's Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench.

March 2009

All the Ships at Sea will screen at Congregation Beth Elohim on Sunday, March 15 at 7:30 pm, along with short films selected by Dan Sallitt.

September 2008

All the Ships at Sea will screen in Kraków, Poland in October in the 1st Off Camera Independent Film Festival.  There are three screenings: on Saturday, October 4 at 7 pm at the Kino Reduta; on Sunday, October 5 at 10 am at Pauza; and again on October 5 at 7 pm at the Klub Alchemia.in Kasimierz.  Dan Sallitt's 1998 feature Honeymoon will also show at Off Camera, on October 3, 4 and 5.

On Wednesday, August 24, All the Ships at Sea will screen in the NewFilmmakers series at Anthology Film Archives, 32 2nd Ave. (at 2nd St.), New York, NY.  The program begins at 8:10 p.m.; admission is $5.  Dan Sallitt's previous feature Honeymoon screened at NewFilmmakers way back in September 1998.

April 2005

All the Ships at Sea was nominated for Best Screenplay at the 2005 Method Fest in April, and received a good review from Ron Stringer in the L.A. Weekly.  (The text of the review is here.)

March 2005

All the Ships at Sea has been accepted to the Method Fest Independent Film Festival in Calabasas, CA.  The film screens on Saturday, April 2 at 5:00 p.m.at the MPTF Louis B. Mayer Theater, 23388 Mulholland Drive, Woodland Hills, CA.  Admission is $8.00 ($6.00 for seniors, students, and AAA members)(?!), and tickets can be purchased at TicketWeb.

January 2005

All the Ships at Sea will have a single screening at Two Boots Pioneer Theater in Manhattan on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m.  There will be a beer-and-pizza reception after the film in the Two Boots Den of Cin, next door to the theater.  Dan Sallitt's 1998 feature Honeymoon will also show at the Pioneer on Fri., Jan. 7 at 7 p.m.

September 2004

Strawn Bovee (who plays Evelyn in the movie) has put together a benefit for the John Kerry campaign at EZTV Video Gallery in Santa Monica, CA on Wed., Sept. 22.  All the Ships at Sea will screen at 8 and 10 p.m.; Bill Krohn, the Hollywood correspondent for Cahiers du Cinema (and the best friend that Dan Sallitt's films have ever had) will introduce the screenings.

Rick Curnutte has put All the Ships at Sea on his in-progress best-of-2004 list, wedged between Kill Bill Vol. 2 and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Ron Tibbett, founder of the Magnolia Independent Film Festival (where All the Ships at Sea had its world premiere in Feb. 2004) died in a car accident in West Point, MS on Jun. 7, 2004.  It's a big loss.

All the Ships at Sea has been accepted to the Filmstock International Film Festival in Luton, UK.  The film screens on Friday, June 11 at 6:45 p.m., and on Saturday, June 12, at 3:30 p.m.  Both screenings are in Studio 1 at the Hat Factory, 65-67 Bute Street., in Luton.  Admission is £3.50 on Friday and £3 on Saturday.
