After a hiatus of what seems like years, I went to Lab-Link at lunch time to screen the new print of reel two, somehow expecting another screwup. But the reel was perfect. Tony and I both breathed a sigh of relief, and I walked out of the lab with the completed, blemish-free film under my arm. The last legs of this process have been so grueling that I didn't expect to feel the least sense of closure, but a nice warm feeling set in and lasted, oh, about an hour and a half.
I have to get back into action mode now. The next steps are to buy reels and cans for the film, and to shop around for a colorist to do the film-to-video transfer. And, I suppose, to look around for a place to have a cast-and-crew screening.
No word from Rotterdam, by the way. I guess I didn't get in.
