Picked up the ready-to-project print in its brand new shipping case at Lab-Link this afternoon. My expected sense of self-satisfaction in walking around with my finished film was mitigated by the fact that the damned thing was really heavy--I could have gotten plastic reels and cans, but I opted for the higher quality merchandise. This case will probably cost a pretty penny to ship around, assuming anyone ever asks me to.
After making a few more phone calls, I decided to go with Nice Shoes for the film-to-video transfer, which will cost me $250 an hour (night rates) and require, I hope, no more than six hours. This should be my last four-figure expense. I tentatively booked time next Tuesday and Friday evenings.
