Alex and I began the search for locations today, and found a few possibilities in Brooklyn. One thing I'm noticing is that lots of filmmaking chores take longer in NY than in other cities, because none of us here have cars.
In the evening I went to an open house at a local film lab. There's something refreshing about that part of the filmmaking world--it's a bunch of old, cranky guys with borough accents who shoot from the hip and don't pretend that they're interested in art. I asked a bunch of dumb questions and learned a few useful things.
For a while now I've been popping up in the morning after six hours sleep and lying awake thinking about the film. I don't feel that anxious, but I guess some part of me must be wound up.
