I told Mitchell Banks today that my lawyer wants to drop the deal memo
and go directly to a contract, and he immediately got cold and hostile,
refusing to bypass the memo or explain anything to me. Perplexed
and irritated, I called the lawyer, who suggested that we change our plan
and try to beef up the deal memo until it includes everything we need.
I'm trying to figure out whether I should take Mitchell's sudden change
of demeanor as a warning sign.
