| The “Tree of Tule” is located in “Santa Maria the Tule”. It is in the
State of Oaxaca, about 8 miles east of the City of Oaxaca.
The legendary Tule tree is a “Taxodium mucionatum.” It is considered the biggest and oldest in the world. It is more than 2000 years old, 40 meters high, and 42 meters wide at the bottom. Its shade is large enought to shelter more than 500 people and it takes about 30 people, holding hands, to encircle its perimiter. |
