Ugh. Chores
Now that spring has arrived and the weather has improved, class is starting to become more difficult. Not the material, the class.
I have expectations for the quality of the courses I take. When the course is labeled as a 400 level course, I expect a fast-paced high volume course. I expect professors that care, and expect professors that do more than sit at a podium and read from slides.
Powerpoint lectures do not belong in Computer Science. Give me a class that provides me with opportunity to grow and I will take it. Give me something new to learn, and I will learn it. Give me a class of rehashed crap, and I will hate it.
With. A. Passion.
I know that we have good professors, I’ve taken the courses. I know we have horrible professors that are great lectureres, I’ve taken the courses. I also know we have bad professors that can’t lecture their way out of a paper bag, but they (generally) teach lower-division courses, and I was lucky.
Now, I know tha those who can’t, teach, and some of them teach 400 level courses as if I were a 12 year old.
Fuck, you don’t have to walk me through how to fucking
Install a Patch
on my computer. Really, I am a Computer Science student, I know how to use a fucking computer.
I’ve been counting down the days to graduation, perhaps I should start counting the hours that I’ve wasted too. Perhaps not, like repair bills, I don’t really want to know.
