MG Fixes, 2007
All the things I’ve done to my dear car during 2007
- 28 October 2007 (82407):
Installed new brake booster seal. - 25 October 2007 (82375):
Got car back from ICS. They didn’t actually get the work done in the 3 weeks they had the car (other cars were priority), but they also may not have needed to do the work (replace the axle seal as a precaution when we discovered the rear axle bolt was loose and leaking). The bolt’s been properly torqued down and hasn’t leaked since. We’re going to drive it for the remainder of the “good weather”, then look at things again when it quiets down. At that time, we’ll also replace the brake shoes, since they are oil fouled (but braking normally). - 29 September 2007 (82353):
Installed shortened bump stops to restore travel to the pre-lowering status. - 27 September 2007 (82353):
Removed brake booster for replacement. After removal, I’m changing my mind. I think the booster is fine, but the seal between the master and the booster is shot. - 9 September 2007 (82342):
Oil change. - 14 July 2007 (79891):
Discovered leaking heater, disconnected and bypassed until I can fix it properly. - 22 April 2007 (79???):
Re-installed relay circuits for head/aghts. The old setup worked well, but the wires were all crimped on. This time I bought a 6-circuit fuse box (I’m using 4), and used 4 relays to independently fuse each filament. In the event of a blown fuse, I should now only lose one side of my head/aghts rather than both. All new wires are now soldiered, so I should be able to go for some time before I need to worry about corrosion issues. - 5 April 2007 (79357):
Oil change. - 3 April 2007 (79328):
Installed new head/aghts from Daniel Stern. - 17 March 2007 (>79293):
Switched to summer tires (rotated), greased front suspension.
