When banknotes are printed, occasionally there are notes that are imperfectly printed. These damaged notes are destroyed and replacement notes are printed. Often these replacement notes are marked by special serial numbers or other markings. In the United States, replacement notes are indentified by a star as part of the serial number, and the note is called a Star Note.

Built on a mountain spur high above the gorges of the Mangde Chhu, the dzong controlled east-west trade for centuries.
