HF Radiotelex (HF SITOR or HF NAVTEX) Broadcast Schedule
Weather, NAVAREA, HydroLant, HydroPac and other navigational safety text information, recognized by the GMDSS, are broadcast over scheduled GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) HF narrow-band direct printing channels from Coast Guard Communications Stations.
NAVTEX
The International Maritime Organization has designated NAVTEX as the primary means for transmitting coastal urgent marine safety information to ships worldwide. In the United States, NAVTEX is broadcast from Coast Guard facilities in Boston, Portsmouth VA, Miami FL, New Orleans LA, San Juan PR, Cambria CA, San Francisco CA, Astoria OR, Kodiak AK, Adak AK, Honolulu HI, and Guam.
Maritime mobile Access & Retrieval System (MARS)
A database retrieval system, developed by the International Telecommunication Union. This system allows the Maritime Community to consult the current contents of the master ITU Ship database. The main ITU database is updated daily by information notified by Adminsitrations and the MARS database is reviewed on a weekly basis. This site provides:
