The AR8000
The AR8000 is a unique Handheld scanning receiver from Japan. The closest consumer product is the Yupiteru which is much simpler to use. The AR8000 is not for everyone. If you can't set the clock on a VCR don't even think about buying an AR8000 which has a street price of around $650 in the USA. This web site contains information which will help you understand the Ar8000 and get the most out of it.
The AR-8000 Database
An Access database for managing your frequencies and AR8000 channels, and a communications module that handles the uploading and downloading of the data between your computer and the AR8000.
AR8000 ToolKit
AR8000 ToolKit is a nifty shareware program from EddyWorks (a subsidiary of The Eccentricity Group) which allows you to use your Macintosh to program your AOR AR8000 scanner exactly the way you want it -- without having to use dials and tiny keys! In addition, it allows you to access areas of the AR8000's memory that are not available from the keypad, such as the 'Auto'-mode bandplan table. Of course, it also allows you to enter and edit bank information (including the seven-character frequency tags!), print frequency lists, and much more!

AR8000 Appendix
Think of this as material that should have been included in the AR8000 manuals, but wasn't.
Wje's Official AOR AR2700 Page
AOR's AR2700 handheld scanning radio is the (much cheaper) little brother to the amazing AR-8000. It has much in common, but doesn't have SSB, CW, or tagged entries.
Javiation Leaders in the supply of HF, VHF & UHF Communications receivers.
One the UK's leading distributors of scanners and associated equipment. Our aviation background and personal interest in the subject guided us towards our specialized area of "Airband Listening" for which we are well known here in the U.K. We produce and publish our own "Airband Guide" which is updated around four to six times each year, we believe it is the most accurate and up to date frequencyguide available for VHF and UHF airband frequencies in the U.K.
