In a refreshing display of criminal cluelessness, a suspected drug dealer from Ft. Smith, Ark., turned himself in without even realizing it. First Gary Wayne French, 33, misdialed the phone number of his alledged accomplice and left a message detailing his whereabouts -- on a answering machine whose recording clearly stated it belonged to a Ft. Smith cop. He left several messages on the same machine. Then he dialed his alleged cohort's car phone. This time Pocola, Okla., cops answered. They'd nabbed the car across state lines, and listened to French describe his whereabouts. Police are calling it Operation Dumb and Dumber.
