A Knowledge Exchange: How MecklerWeb Works
MecklerWeb is a collection of virtual communities that will use
existing technology to bring togetrh various professional
associations, corporate sponsors, and global Internet audiences. Live
discussion and well-organized multimedia resource collections will
constitute the system's content.
Here there was an inset picture of a star network with a magnifying
glass magnifying one of the domains showing it connecting to
subdomains and each subdomain connecting to subsubdomains and so
on.
The balloons contained the following descriptions:
- The home page is the ``front door'' throug whic users will enter
MecklerWeb. It will contian hyperlinks to the system's resources,
aas well as to various orientation aids.
- Domain hubs represent broad interest areas such as arts and
entertainment, technology, medecine, law, education, and the
environment.
- Sub-donains will privide resource collections and discussion
areas focusing on more specific topics of interest.
- Corporate sponsors will be easily accessible from domains or
sub-domains in which their knowledge, experience, products and
services will constitute genuine added value to specific audiences.
