The series of pieces in this
exhibition are digitally manipulated photographs of reflected
images. Earlier photos were taken with 35mm camera and the negatives
scanned onto a Kodak
CD-ROM, while later
photos were shot on a
Kodak DC-265 digital
camera. The digital images were imported into PhotoShop and manipulated to achieve the characteristics
inherent in the series.
"Reflection is an interesting
phenomena for me. Visual perception is a personal thing, and
we all seem to have an agreement about the things that we see.
But like a child attaching visual descriptions to clouds in the
sky, I use reflections because they yield enough of a view of
an object so that it is recognizable, yet lucid, and becomes
perceptually like other distinct objects."--Michael Coble
