Babe (Chris Noonan)

This film is extremely cute, and I enjoyed it, but I'm a little baffled 
by the critical raves it's received; it seems to me to be more a triumph 
of ingenious special effects than anything else...sort of a kinder, 
gentler JURASSIC PARK.  The narrative and characterizations are 
serviceable, but hardly groundbreaking; I never quite got lost in the 
story, at least not enough to stop thinking: "Hey, how'd they do that?"  
But I feel like The Grinch finding fault with a movie as charming and 
pleasant as this one.  It's good fun.  Children not required.
