Safety in Numbers

• Cycling safety is greater in countries and cities with higher levels of cycling

• Cyclist injury rates fall as levels of cycling increase.

• Feedback loop! More bikers means safer bicycling which attracts more bikers...

• Bike advocates and others believe this is currently happening in NYC. The bike share system will hopefully accelerate the process.
