Comments:
Okay this agency came recommended from a friend and I went in and met
with them. It's a really dumpy office and the tests were not really
worth the time. I met with Paula who was very nice. I went on a
Tuesday and told them I would be available the following monday. The
minute I got home I got a page from one of the other "dregs" in the
office wanting to know if I would be interested in a long term
position that was "really a project" at a publishing house. It was an
"Excel" project. Now I've been around enough to know that when it is
an "Excel" project it means that it's really a data entry spot
overseen by someone who has little PC knowledge and uses Excel for
everything. So I said no. She kept calling me wanting to know if I
would go in for an hour of training on Wednesday. Like if you can be
trained in an hour, why waste the time? I finally had to be really
firm with this lady and say I'm not available. My sense of the place
is yes they are very busy, IF you are desparate for work go there, but
don't count on exciting work. I think they specialize in boring gigs
kind of like they themselves are.
