Comments: The best thing about Madamoiselle is that they show video movies during standby. They don't pay for standby, but you can come in in the morning and veg to the Untamed Heart, and then go out and register with someone else in the afternoon if you don't get work. They also get some unusual assignments: I worked for Calvin Klein for two days.
Over the past several months, my pattern has been to take long-term assignments for $16 per hour from Custom, and in between Custom assignments to go on standby at Madamoiselle. The last time, however, I went in a few days in a row, but got no work. My counselor was nice enough to tell me that one of my previous assignments (which I hated and stopped in the middle) had said I was bad on phones, so they didn't send me out on any reception jobs. I'm insecure about a lot of that, and couldn't bring myself to tell her that I was good on phones. Instead I went to another agency and got work for the next day.
