Comments:
Started working: 1986
Stopped working: I've been working on and off for Tiger from 1986 - the present
Types of Jobs: Administrative Assistant, Word Processing, P.C. Troubleshooting, Medical Clinic, Graphics
Was this Typical: Yes
Clients: Mostly big corporations in the financial services industry.
Salary: Started out at $15/hr. in 1987 and peaked at $22 in 1994. My pay rate is down to $20/hr. and I am doing Harvard Graphics, Word Processing and Database
Benefits: None
Comments: All of the jobs I've been placed in have been extremely demanding. In fits of paranoia, I often imagine that Tiger sends me on the toughest jobs because they believe I'm a glutton for punishment and can tolerate unrealistic and inhuman expectations. I don't know. Maybe all jobs are like this.
The job I have just resigned from worked me to illness. I worked for 7 bankers, 1 analyst, 2 administrative staff persons, and occassionally bankers from other branch offices. 95% of my work had extremely short deadlines. I had no time to take lunch or rest breaks and often worked until midnight, and sometimes past midnight. Tiger has expressed no displeasure with me when I resign from my jobs. I attended a free ergonomics class provided by Tiger and I thought it was really good.
I haven't worked for many other agencies, but I get the feeling that Tiger pays better than most. Tiger gives free training in most applications. They are usually responsive when I need work. When I expressed discomfort with my last job, they intervened, resulting in better treatment from my bosses.
