Comments:
I think that, if you are polished, punctual, skilled, and professional, Jovan is a great agency to work with. They want to keep their clients satisfied with the best applicants they can get. Slackers need not apply.
The office at Jovan Temps is a small, pleasant one in the Empire State Building. It appears that the main counselors might be the owners. They are very direct and to the point when briefing you on their agency and what they expect from temps. They are not chatty or overly friendly - they are simply very professional. I had registered with 4 agencies that day and got an assignment with one of the others right away. But when I called Jovan to let them know I was available, they were very responsive and persistent in calling me for other assignments. Right now I want short term assignements and some flexibility, and they have gotten me spots for a few days each at $17/hr in a law firm which is very pleasant and friendly - and conveniently located! I hate when I tell an agency that I prefer midtown and they offer me assignments all the way downtown - so I know that Jovan listens. I also know that they have a number of longterm assignments which pay higher, and they seem to get lots of legal spots. They had offered me one where I would train as a legal secretary at $23/hr. I am just not ready to commit to anything longterm right now. I recommend Jovan highly, especially if you have great skills and/or legal experience.
