Comments:
I registered on-line in the Spring of 2002. A very lengthy process that took about 30 minutes. Susan Stones contacted me and I went to their offices. Filled out all the paperwork and then had to sit through a video about proper dress and attitude for temps. And then there was the video about safety on the job and how temps should not lift heavy packages or handle transactions involving money.
After all that I talked with Susan and she said they were very slow. No tests were given, but I heard from another place I worked at that she did check my references. Susan told me to stay in touch with her by email.
Which I did. We had some pleasant chats but nothing work related every came up.
In 2003 I called to renew the acquaintance. Woo Hoo I'm still in their database but Susan has gone and I was told I'd have to speak to a new person their about whether or not I had to come in and reintroduce myself.
What a waste of time and money I spent. Tally it up: $3 carfare round trip, $5. lunch and coffee, $10 for hairstyling, drycleaning and pantyhose. So much for creating a good impression and having the right business attire.
