Comments:
I had once gone to their perm divison and was treated so badly (they
tried to convince me to take a salary cut by 10k).
A few years later I posted my resume on the net and I got a call from
someone from Quantum telling me I would be an ideal candidate. I
informed him what I had gone through before and I wasn't interested.
He convinced me that things had changed and it would be different now.
He added that my interview would only take about 1 hour (since I told
him I had another interview that same day).
When I got there, after one hour he came out and told me that his boss
insisted that I take a battery of tests. I finished 2 hours of tests
in less than 1 1/4 hours and got 100% on each test.
He then told me that his boss (a Mr. Habib) wanted to interview me.
Originally I told him I would not except a position for less than 50k
since that was my salary at my last permenant position as a
supervisor/manager. His boss asked me what I was doing currently. I
told him I was temping until I got a perm job since I couldn't live on
unemployment. He asked what was my rate. He then got pushy and told
me I could never ask for a position of 50k since I was now temping and
only getting $24/hr. He added that I didn't deserve 50k and I should
be happy with around 40k or temp.
I was now there from 11:45am to 2:40pm. I had another interview for a
position for 60k and that job interview (not an agency one) was within
1/2 hour. I told him he wasted enough of my time. He then got nasty
and told me I wasn't worth 60k. I took my application and ripped it
up and threw it in his face.
Needless to say, I almost missed my other job interview; and oh yes I
got the 60k position without any trouble. The first thing I did was
see which agencies my emloyer was using. Guess who was their primary
agency? Quantum; which I immedately stopped using. When the agent
for Quantum called I told him about my experience with his agency and
Mr. Habib.
