Comments:
I didn't inquire about benefits. At the time I honestly didn't expect to hear from them. Though I have a degree in Accounting, it's 5 years old and I didn't have any experience in the field. I was basically on an agency blitz. Registering and checking them all out. Going on interviews, turning down jobs that I didn't want. I had quit my previous position and was not trying to settle for anything where I wouldn't gain some experience in accounting while at the same time contributing some of the skills I already have. I was surprised and excited when they called me about this position. I was extremely disappointed at first. For the most part I felt like I was just taking up space....everyone else around me working and there I sat playing 3-D pinball and surfing the 'net...However, once I let it slip out to the Exec Assistant (who was doing the duties I was supposedly hired for)...and the Staff Acct that I felt I wasn't needed and should call the agency to request another assignment....they began "trusting" me with some responsibilites...I'm learning alot from the Staff Acct, while at the same time contributing.....which is more or less what I hoped for when I decided to leave my previous job...I try not to think about how much the agency is actually getting paid for my services...since I do the a/p I know the real rate...Oh well, without them I wouldn't be where I am rite now, if this doesn't turn permanent...we'll negotiate a higher rate in the future...since I'll be "experienced" :) I recommend AOC for anyone looking for entry into the Accounting and Finance field...
