Comments:
When I registered for this agency it was at a time that I thought I
could find a decent job. The counselor at the time was Carolyn. She
placed me with a real estate firm that was formerly on Lincoln Center
where I worked for 65 days at 7.50 per hour. when I finally rolled
over to the company's pay roll. It seems to me that they had a deal
with Essex for their own purposes, because after working since April
of 01 to about 3 days after the World Trade Center fell I was let go
after all of the reports they had given on me that were fine. Essex
is not a great agency. They refuse to pay anyone, even college
graduates, what they should be paying and on top of that the companies
that they send you to also have their own agendas. Like if you dont
fool around and clown around with the bosses then you are not "working
out" and they then let you go. Also from this experience the company
offered me a severance then took it back for unpaid insurance and they
also denied my unemployment. Stay as far away from this agency as you
possibly can. They will screw you in the end. The good thing is that
after this experience I went to Kelly Services, and I have been with
them for 2 years and am happily working and the counselors are great.
The pay is based on your skills, and I am finally in the process of
getting a permanent job in one of their own divisions, so there are
agencies out ther that care. Essex is not one of them
