Comments:
Since I moved to NYC after working for Adia in Atlanta, it was an easy matter to transfer my paperwork. I did this on a Friday, and by Monday afternoon I had a job for the next week and a half.
Soon after that I landed what seems to have been my last job working for them. I was on a two week word processing assignment for an AT&T proposal. The night before the second week started I got sick (fever), but dragged myself in to work. I tried to work but it was very difficult as I had to go to the restroom on an average of every twenty minutes or so.
When it was clear I was not going to last the day, the client called the agency to arrange for another temp and I went home. Later on I was told the client had not been pleased about my inability to work, and let my replacement temp take over the remaining week of my job. I totally understood the client's dissatisfaction, however, I felt justified in my actions due to the extent of my illness- this was not a hangover or the sniffles.
Unfortunately, this experience seems to have made me persona-non-grata at Adia. I called frequently (for awhile) but have yet to be given another assignment.
