Ecco is a multinational temp agency, based in France, with branches all over the world. It was the first agency I registered with when I came to New York. I went to their intake office on 60 East 42nd Street and took their dummy clerical test. I didn't know that my computer skills could make me so much money, so I asked for clerical work. They called me a week later and offered me a second-shift job doing data entry for First Chicago in Jersey City for $8.50 an hour. I would have taken it, but they wanted a commitment of at least a month. I declined, and got maybe one other offer from them afterward.
