Campers' Group Bulletin - Fall 2001

Campers' Group Bulletin - Fall 2001

Fall is around the corner. The air will be crisp, the leaves will turn a thousand colors, and the cool nights will nip your toes unless you wear warm socks. Best of all, most of summer's campers will pack away their tents for next year, and we'll enjoy uncrowded campgrounds.

Campers' Group offers its deepest sympathies to all those who were injured and the families of those killed in the September 11 attack on the World Trade Center. In a small way, Campers' Group contributed to the relief effort by donating a tent. Because many people who normally receive the newsletter by e-mail cannot access the Internet, this newsletter is being sent by paper mail to all paid-up members even if they only paid for an e-mail membership.

To reserve a space on a weekend trip or a day event, call the leaders no later than the Wednesday before the trip. If you need information earlier than the dates listed below, call David at 718-897-1448. To go on a weekend trip, you must be a member. You can mail us your dues or pay it at the campsite. One year's membership costs $12 for an individual or $18 for a family ($8/individual or $12/family if you receive the newsletter by e-mail). Make your check payable to Campers' Group and mail it to David Levner, 63-36 98th Place #5J, Rego Park, NY 11374.

Campers' Group is a cooperative organization that depends on its members to lead events. Without trip leaders, our schedule of events would be blank. If you have attended one or more camping or day trips, please consider leading a trip in the future. Leading a trip isn't hard, and Denise and I will support you and give you all the help that you need. If you have an idea for a day event, please call Denise; if you would like to lead a weekend trip, please call me. David
