Jacques is offered a job

Since they were saddled with André anyway, the magi opened negotiations with Jacque to train the grogs. After some debate and discussion about whether such an arrangement would encourage André to stay, Jacques was finally hired for a cash salary. That salary, of course, was immediately recycled back into the local economy to pay for supplies for both André and Jacques, but the magi were happier that any support for André was indirect.
