This is a website is a labor of love -- the love of Yosemite. I hope to share useful information, hints and tips that will help make your visits to Yosemite more enjoyable and fun.
My husband and I live in Mariposa, a small community near Yosemite. We make all sorts of excuses to visit, so I guess you could say it is our favorite place on earth. I hope to share our enthusiasm with you, so that maybe one day, Yosemite will be your favorite place on earth.
I grew up in California's San Joaquin Valley. Camping was the usual family vacation. We camped all over the state of California, but Yosemite was our favorite camping spot. I have loved nature since I was a child. I collected rocks wherever we went (I have a collection of interesting rocks I have rescued from our back yard.) My favorite books were about camping and rocks and wildflowers. In college, I studied Biology and graduated with a B.A. in biology. After a successful career in laboratory science (medical laboratory and petroleum testing), I am retired, and have the time to do what I love -- photography art and design. I especially love photographing wildflowers. Every spring we make regular treks to Yosemite capture the beauty of wildflowers.
Part of this website is a store. Here you will find some of my photography and art, as well as some of my design work from a couple of print on demand websites.
I hope you enjoy your visit and come back often.
Susan
