Engine 14

This image was taken the day I had to return a Wisner field camera I
had rented for a trip to Rhinebeck.
I was wandering the neighborhood with my last couple of sheets of
color film, intending to take a couple of still lifes at the Green
Market, when I came across this firehouse. Engine 14 is on East
18th Street just off Union Square. One of the fire fighters was kind
enough to warn me that they were moving the truck soon so that I knew
to get the picture taken and not waste too much time fiddling with the
camera.
