Obviously, Sallitt was thinking of the great Pialat when he created this
dedication, but he also tried to emulate the beautiful dedications in
the films of Francois Truffaut, which are removed from the screen almost
before the audience has registered them.
This is a still from the set of Pialat's last movie Le Garçu,
with Géraldine Pailhas and Gérard Depardieu. Sallitt
learned on his last
movie that it is a bad idea to emulate Pialat. Pialat could do
the things that he did because he was Pialat. No one else can do them.
