All the Ships at Sea - Spot the Movie References!
The only homage here is to Sallitt's earlier film Honeymoon,
which also features a character applying moisturizer. Sallitt vows
to show a character using moisturizer in all of his future films. He
also plans to continue the tradition, suggested by his friend Paula Carino
and begun in All the Ships at Sea, of having characters use lip
balm at least once in every film. He notices that things like moisturizer
and lip balm show up constantly in real life but almost never in movies.
Whereas other things like bubble baths and serial killers are greatly
overrepresented in the cinema, given their rarity in real life.
