Enrel does a televised 'correction' of its
claims
The makers of Enbrel are currently televising a
commercial that corrects claims made in their previous commercials. That by
"fast acting" they meant noticeable results in two months (not overnight) and
various other claims that needed revising. I wonder if the FCA got on their
case. I have never seen anything quite like it before.
What's most striking is that the guy who
says "you might remember me" from the other commercial is in fact NOT the actor
playing the man stricken with psoriasis. I remember the crazy fat guy with the
inner tube and this is not that guy. So it's interesting how the actor
correcting the drug's claims is in fact revised himself. Thinner, younger,
cuter.
Meanwhile, as someone who has
eczema himself, I find these actors in commercials for skin ailments quite
beautifully skinned. The skin the likes of which an eczema sufferer never, ever
knows. Pretty much the ultimate offense on TV when it comes to big
pharmaceutical companies showing the "results" of skin treatments for chronic
ailments liks psoriasis or eczema.
