Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Fourth installment of the popular pubescent
wizard... stalls a bit.
I am going to keep this short and sweet. While I
like this series of movies, I must say that this fourth in the series of seven
movies was a disappointment. The general wit and action of the tales of Harry
Potter and his fellow magic students at Hogwarts got bogged down in some
unnecessary WB-like teen dramas. After showing us Harry put into a competition
against hsi will, the entire show stopped for a prom, basically, at which
nothing untoward happened, but Hermione had a snit fit.
The producers also made hte mistake of
not bringing back the edgy director from the third film. Big mistake. The real
star, in the end, was Scotland, which provided appropriately eery and magical
natural landscapes for much of the film. The series still probably has some gas
in it. I hope this film was merely "transitional."
