Thank You!

Your Domain Registration Form has been logged for processing, we will notify you via email when we send the form to the InterNIC.

Your Next Steps

Here are the rest of the steps to complete your SiteMail setup. In all your correspondance with us, please reference your domain name for our records.
  1. Send Payment to Panix when you receive your invoice. We do our billing via email. Normally invoices are sent to the maintenance account. If you would like the invoices to go to a different or additional address, please let us know. We do not send postal invoices unless specifically requested.

Please send your check or money order to:

    Panix Public Access Networks Corp
    Attn: Corporate Web Dept.
    15 West 18th Street, 5th Floor
    New York, NY 10011
Please put your domain name or your Customer Number on the check.

  2. Setup your PPP account. If you have not already setup your PPP account, which you will use to connect to Panix to retreive your mail, now is the time to do so. This account has a static IP address and is for sending and recieving email; no other Internet functions are included.

  3. Setup your SMTP Server. In order to use SiteMail service you need a mail server running software that supports SMTP. PANIX recommends the Eudora World Mail Server (Windows NT), or the Eudora Internet Mail Server (Mac). For a good, free Macintosh solution, try the Stalker Internet Mail Server.

The primary MX record for your domain points to your mail server (which will be assigned the IP address of the PPP account you are setting up with Panix). When your server is not connected to the Internet, the backup MX record will direct email to the PANIX mailhost, which stores it for retrieval by your server.

You should setup your server to deliver an "ETRN <your-domain-name>" command to the server mailhost-dialup.panix.com whenever it wants to retrieve mail.

If you have any questions, please send mail to: corp-ip@panix.com.
