We've had some really good food in Borjomi. We tried to go to a restaurant for dinner last night that has really good reviews online. It was very small and all the tables were full. After we left one of the diners chased us down and told us the restaurant is very good so we should try to come back later in the night. So we knew we would have to go back if people like it that much! We were too hungry so we went somewhere else for dinner and went back to that restaurant for lunch. It was indeed very good! We had a traditional chicken and cilantro egg drop soup, eggplant walnut rolls, spinach and walnut, and kebabs in flatbread. The earliest archaeological evidence of wine was found in Georgia so of course we had to try some of the unique wines they make here. We got an "amber" wine where they leave the skins of the grapes on for part of the process. It was also made in "qvevri" clay jugs instead of wooden barrels. I dont know enough about wine so I can't taste the difference! We have a very nice balcony at the airbnb with a beautiful view. |
