Mars Hill Adventure

The first photo is our home away from home. My old friend David manages it along with his rental cabin which is just next door. Second is a scenic overlook on the drive down. Third is the small river (or is it a big creek?) behind the house. Fourth is the view looking up to Craggy Dome overlook. We had to climb to get to the overlook. Worth it. Fifth and sixth are views from the Craggy Dome overlook. Seventh and eighth are views from the hill behind the house. It has a 360-degree view which includes Craggy Dome. On our walks up to it we saw a flock of turkeys. The dog spooked them and they took off all at once and were gone before I could raise the camera. Minutes later we were standing by the river and an osprey came flying along right in front of us, at eye level. The last photo is from the peak of Mt. Mitchell.
