Tuesday Cathedral

One of the benefits of our current sleep schedule is arriving at
the tourist sites before anyone else. The downside is arriving
before they're open. We went to the big cathedral of Tbilisi, the
Holy Trinity Cathedral and walked around the perimeter for a little
bit until it opened. I think it was visible in some of the pics I
sent, it is pretty large and has a gold roof. The cathedral grounds
had a lovely garden that we strolled around. Inside were many images
of Mary and Christ, saints, and important figures from Georgian
history. Inside was one other pair of tourists and a few locals who
came to light candles in front of certain images. An old man saw
us and showed us a small side door that lead to the underground
chapel. Hospitality is a big part of the culture and Georgians are
very eager to tell us about Georgia and Georgian culture even with
the language barrier.
