We saw most of the sights we wanted to see in Tbilisi so yesterday we had a slower day. We tried a popular cafe that serves mineral water with flavored syrup. Most of the water here is mineral water and a lot of the brands are towns that we will see later in the trip! Some of them have a really minerally flavor and other brands taste like regular water. The water comes from mountain springs in the towns they're named after. Today we're going to Borjomi, which is where Buster's favorite mineral water comes from and one of the reasons we got the idea to come to Georgia. It has a very minerally and even salty flavor and I don't like it very much. People drink it here for health and they used to go to Borjomi to drink the water and bathe in the mineral pools for the same reason. Before we left, we saw a Faberge egg in the Met commemorating a town in the same region where the Tsars went during the summer. We also went up the cable cars to the top of the big hill next to the city. It has been visible in some of my pictures, there is a large white building and a TV tower on top of the hill. From the cable car we could see the church we went to the other day. At the top we went on a Ferris wheel and saw a beautiful view of the city. |
