The hardest city in France to research

When we were planning this part of the trip, it was very difficult to find
recommendations for the city of Tours because googling things like “best
bakery in Tours” would just give a bunch of food tours in Paris.

We took the train to Tours and walked around the streets with Medieval
looking timbered houses. We saw the cathedral, which is a very old Gothic
cathedral that I studied in one of my art history classes. Many places in
the city closed for lunch between 1-3 so we walked by the Loire river and
enjoyed the atmosphere. We went to a food hall that has many local and
artisanal stands with butcher, wines, cheeses, produce, and bakeries.

We got a few things to enjoy for dinner and we headed to our Airbnb. It is a
little turret that used to part of a nobleman’s hunting lodge. Now it is
surrounded by farms and vineyards.

We attempted to bike to the nearby village for some additional groceries but
since there was a big hill and it was my first bike ride, Buster went on without
me and I biked back via the scenic route. It was flat but the path was grass and
bumpy in some places so it was a little tricky.

Today we are attempting another bike ride, this time it should be flat and paved.
We shall see how it goes!
