Welcome to Wilmington Nov. 2, 2022

We went to the Fort Fisher aquarium. It's in Kure Beach
which reminds me of Surfside Beach in the old days. Lots
of beach houses lining the street, looks like it would be
a nice place to spend a few days.
When we got to the aquarium it was feeding time for the
alligators. The albino 'gator is blind so the feeder had to
make noises to let them know where the food was.

There is an outdoor wildlife area at the aquarium with local
flora and fauna. We saw some turtles sunning in the pond.

Then it was on to Greenfield Park. It's only a few blocks from
the inn but we'd never visited it before. It's right in the
middle of town but you can see how idyllic it is. The lake
is gorgeous and there were all kind of birds like herons,
egrets, and some I couldn't name. There was also a sign with
words to the wise.

I may have mentioned that we were in the Georgia O'Keefe
suite this time. It's roomier than the Jacques Cousteau room
and has a southwestern motif as you might expect. The skull
hangs in the entrance way and greets when you come inside.
