In this 612-acre Bucks County park, you'll find 22 family campsites, two group sites and four cabins. Tochickon Creek runs through the park -- Tohickon means "Deer Bone Creek" in the Lenape language. There is a pool for swimming which is only open during the summer (check with the park for the exact dates). |
Driving directions: Your first goal is to get on I-78 West. You can do
this via the Holland Tunnel to the New Jersey Turnpike, via the Lincoln
Tunnel to the New Jersey Turnpike South, or the George Washington Bridge
to I-95 South which becomes the New Jersey Turnpike South. Leave the New
Jersey Turnpike at exit 14 to get on I-78 West. Staten Islanders can take
the Outerbridge Crossing to New Jersey Route 440 to I-287 North. Exit 21B
from I-287 leads to I-78 West.
On I-78, stay in the express lanes until exit 15. Keep left on the exit ramp to County Road 513 West (Pittstown Road). In Pittstown, Route 513 bears right and changes its name to Everittstown Road -- stay on it. In Frenchtown, you'll go straight into State Road 12 (Race Street and then Bridge Street). Cross the bridge over the Delaware River and turn left on State Road 32 (River Road). Seven miles after entering Pennsylvania, you'll pass the Point Pleasant Baptist Church on your right. It's a stone- and white-trimmed building. Make a sharp right up the hill onto Cafferty Road. (If you enter the town of Point Pleasant, you've gone too far.) As you continue up the hill, the entrance to Tohickon Valley Park will be on your left. Pass a parking lot on the left, continue straight, and turn right on a park road into the Doe Run Campground. Follow the road to the end for cabin 4. Ken writes: These directions are as accurate and easy as I think possible. I hope everyone can follow them. David writes: Good luck!
