Friday was Yom Kippur, so I did not check for closings until now.
It turns out that the Republic Hose Employees Federal Credit Union of Youngstown, OH was closed on September 30.
It was the 9th credit union closing of the year.
I’m not sure why the number of closed credit unions is so close to the number of closed banks (14 so far this year).
Typically, the ratio is at least 2:1.
