I think that she’ll be depressingly conservative, but I’m a fan of Kagan’s old mentor, Thurgood Marshall as a good place to put the ideological center of the court.
I hope that her lack of judicial record will mean that she is a pleasant surprise, but I would take 2:1 odds against it.
