It looks like the US Attorney in Chicago, Patrick Fitzgerald, will remain the US Attorney for Chicago.

How about appointing him special prosecutor to investigate torture?

Sigh….only in my dreams.

On a more pragmatic level, I think that part of this is because Fitz’s presence in Illinois goes a long way towards inoculating Obama regarding any further reports of corruption.
