The Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency, JAXA, is planning to test an unmanned aircraft to test out supersonic passenger aircraft concepts, with the first tests in the 2012-2013 time frame.

It’s pretty clear from the design that a big part of their noise reduction is through using the airframe to shield engine noise.
